LANGA LAPU

Langa Lapu is Xhosa for "sun cloth", and Pru
Bolus and her team aim to bring some of the abundant African sunshine and vibrant
colour into your homes. Their exotic and colourful fabrics are handmade in
South Africa combining our lush tropical vegetation with the African element of
earth, wind, fire and water. 

The fabrics are only created on the hottest days of the warmest months, with
no wind to disturb the leaves.  The special light-sensitive dyes do their
work over a couple of hours, and only when the leaves are removed can one see
how the sunlight has affected the fabric.

For this
reason, each fabric is unique and as such can never be reproduced exactly. That
is what makes Langa Lapu so very special.
